Hi!

From 2014, George Lackenby was ordained as a priest and has taken a full role in the two parishes. Here is a picture of us at the Communion Table with our roles reversed at his first preside at Holy Communion. George’s work is especially focussed on serving our local community in 4 of our Care and Nursing Homes and developing our understanding and work with those affected by dementia.

Recently, our Children and Youth Worker Mark Harrison married the lovely Gill and we had a great celebration in church and in the Church Hall afterwards. Members of the youth group led prayers and read readings!

At the moment, the two PCCs are meeting together to discuss our priorities for the next few years. We are mindful of Bishop Paul’s highlighting of the need to prioritise evangelism, children and youthwork and poverty which corresponds with some of our activities to date: Alpha Course; FOS and the Youth Group and Gateshead Foodbank and Clothes Bank and work in schools on debt.
